"What was the best part of 2023?"
At the end of 2023, Khanh decided to reach out to this guy she matched with on Facebook Dating, as she had gained a whole lot of free time shortly after losing her job. Just her luck, he was at the gym doing the stair masters when he received this message so his heart was already racing.
First Date
John and Khanh met up in DC for their first date after she had suggested they visit a Christmas market she saw online. That activity lasted no more than 5 minutes, so they went impromptu to the National Portrait Gallery nearby to continue their date. Little did John know, a portrait of Khanh will end up on his screensaver down the line.
Friendly Competition
One of the many fun things in John and Khanh's relationship is their high competitive egos. They have played badminton together, billiards, ping pong, mini golf, archery, etc. Every time, there's no such thing as letting the other person win. But unlike the game's scores they like to keep tally of, they're learning throughout their relationship to be patient and forgiving in more serious matters.
Journeys with You
In 2024, John and Khanh took their first major trip together to the Philippines, Malaysia, and Vietnam. It was the first test of how well they travel together. There, they went to so many places, saw and did so many things, and met up with friends. During this trip, John learned that Khanh does not like to relax on vacation. In fact, he kept learning that Khanh doesn't relax at home either. Khanh learned that when John loves a dish, he will eat that dish whenever he gets a chance — amongst the many things they continue to learn about each other.

In the beginning, there was an acknowledgement on each person's pursuit of God as they pursued each other. There were ups and downs, and when there were downs, the only One that got them through was God — and He will be their foundation as they journey onto this next chapter together, guiding them and growing them.
